A DNS probe is a network diagnostic tool used to test the accessibility of a specified host name or address. A DNS probe can also try the performance of a DNS server measuring the time it takes to the server to solve a given host name.
There are several types of DNS -related errors that can occur. Other examples include:

How to solve DNS_PROBE_SARTED Error (6 methods)
Now that we understand more about this error, let’s solve it. Here are six methods to be used to solve the DNS_PROBE_SARTED error.
Please note that for the next tutorial, we will use Windows/Chrome as it is where you probably find this error. However, if you use a MAC device or other browser, you can follow the same steps by replacing the orders with the bone/browser equivalents.
1. Change your DNS IPV4/IPV6 address
The first solution you can try is to change your DNS IPV4/IPv6 address. Without going into discomfort, these internet protocols have small technical differences. While IPv6 is the most recent version, IPV4 is still the most popular.
To begin with, go to your control board and click on Network and the Internet > Network and Sharing Center. In the menu on the left, select Change the configuration of the adapter:

This will open the Network connections window. Click the right button on your network and then select Properties:

In the window opened, click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) In the list and then select Properties Again:

Click to Use the DNS server addresses below. You can enter “8.8.8.8” for the Preferred DNS server and “8.8.4.4” for the Alternative DNS server:

When you have finished, click on the Ok button to save the changes. Close all windows, then try to react the website to see if the error is still present. If the problem is not fixed, you can move to the following potential solution.
2. Update your DNS
DNS cache implies that your operating/browser system save your IP addresses recently visited in a database. However, an obsolete database can lead to network connectivity problems, such as the DNS_Probe_started error.
Therefore, the next method you must try to solve this problem is to drag your DNS cache to refresh it. Open the command message. To do —Press the Windows key + RWrite “CMD” to Lead Box and press Enter:

If you use Macos you can navigate to Uses > Terminal. In the window of the command symbol, write the following:

Press your Enter Key. This will erase the incorrect DNS entrances from the computer’s cache. Then enter the following order:
ipconfig /renew
This will renew your computer IP address. Finally, you can enter:
ipconfig /registerdns
Press Enter to run the order. This will record your computer’s DNS configuration with your Internet Service Provider (ISP). You can write “Departure” and press Enter To close the control message.

You can follow similar steps if you use a MAC device or other web browser. To obtain detailed guidance, you can refer to our guide on how to delete the cache for all the main browsers.
4. Uninstall and reinstall network controller (s)
Many problems may arise from obsolete network drivers. One of them is the DNS_PROBE_SARTED error message.
Therefore, if you still see the error, you can try the uninstall and reinstall network drivers through the devices manager. In Windows, press the Windows key + Rand then write “devmgmt.msc” on Lead box and take -ho Enter.
In the Device Manager window, click to enlarge Network adapters. Then click the right button to your network adapter and select Uninstalling the device:

Close the devices manager window and reboot your computer. Once the computer is restarted, open the devices manager again and select the network adapter. Click to Action > Scan the hardware changes From the menu bar:

This will re -install network drivers. Now try to reload the website.
5. Disable antivirus and firewall software
Antivirus and firewall tools are important because they can protect -with various problems, including various types of malicious software.
However, if you still have problems with the DNS_Probe_started error, your antivirus software may be blocking DNS applications. Therefore, you can try to disable it temporarily to see if this solves the problem.
You can also temporarily deactivate the firewall. Alternatively, you may want to try to adjust their settings.
To check the firewall settings, open the control board and write the “control” in the search field, followed by your Enter Key. Select System and securitythen below Windows Defender Firewallchose Allows an application or function through the Windows firewall:

In the following window click on Change the settings:

If your DNS customer does not appear on the list, you can add it by clicking Plus (+) icon. When you have finished select the Ok button to save the changes.
6. Reboot your router/modem
Finally, the last method you can try is to restart your router or modem. This will reset the connection between the servers of the computer and DNS.
You can jump this step if you only see the message DNS_Probe_started in a browser, such as Chrome, but not in others, like Edge. In this scenario, the problem is probably with browser settings instead of your network or internet connection.
After deactivating the computer, the router/modem, disconnect them from the start -up and wait a few minutes. Then turn on the router/modem and, after a minute or two, the computer.
Summary
